Rest Time is a part of our daily routine for toddlers, pre-schoolers and kindergartners at Thomas Learning Centers. Regular schedules provide a framework for the day that orders a young child's world and provides stability. While predictability can be tedious for adults, children flourish on consistency and repetition. Some children don't actually sleep during rest time, but will lie down with a book or play quietly. If you have ever cared for a child who has missed a nap, you know how irritable and restless they can get. Rest is essential for children's good health, mental and emotional well-being, and physical safety. It is so important that it is mandated by the state for any child remaining in childcare more than four hours.

Children sleep on sanitized cots provided by the Centers. For the children's health and comfort parents are asked to bring a crib sheet and blanket, labeled with their child's name, which is to be taken home each Friday, washed, and returned each Monday.
