CORE VALUES
Passion for education
"Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time."
- T. Edison
When children grow as learners they will draw from character traits they developed as young children. Perserverance is our (and our student's) commitment to stay the course when it gets a little bumpy. Not giving up and starting over when success is just around the corner. It may take a thousand attempts, but it is all worth it when we witness the first spark!
customer service and excellence
After 50 years in business, our schools have become solid staples in the community - continuously meeting the evolving needs of the families and children we serve. Through excellent customer service we have been able to develop strong bonds with our students and families, so much so that our students return as adults to be early childhood educators as well as enroll their own children in the program they loved being a part of.
communication
Greatness cannot be achieved without solid communication. Through face to face conversations at drop off and pick up times, daily or weekly progress reports, parent teacher conferences, and monthly newsletters we have formed a strong sense of community with our families. We encourage parent participation in our curriculum and program events - which creates a colorful and diverse basis for best practice.
Leadership
Who we are today..
Thomas Learning Centers was founded over 50 years ago by a local dentist and family man with 11 children! What Dr Thomas began all those years ago has evolved into what we refer to as an extension of your family's home. Throughout our history as an institution we have adapted and transformed along with the ECE community to constantly improve our craft and approach to early childhood education.

team
Our Center Directors and Field Supervisors have over 75 years of combined experience in the Early Childhood Field and have worn every hat in the school (still do most days).
We value servant leadership and support our teaching teams by example, drawing from wisdom of experience. We are always thrilled to incorporate new methods of practice!
Our Teachers have a huge heart for children and with confidence in one another we are able to create a positive, fun, and engaging work culture - this reflects on the children in our program. As they imitate healthy interactions they witness on a daily basis it is evident they are immersed in a loving and enriching environment.

We understand that we are not only teaching your child, we are standing in your place. You will have many chances to interact with your child’s teacher face to face at pick up or drop off times. Infant and toddler parents are provided a daily written report highlighting routine caregiving along with any little notes or reminders. Preschool parents are provided weekly progress reports in addition to face to face conversation. In our prekindergarten classroom children will bring home a folder with homework, important upcoming events, or other notes to be completed and returned the following week. Parent-Teacher conferences are offered every fall and spring.
There are weekly extension activity ideas embedded in our curriculum purposed to involve families in the weekly lesson while at home or out in the community. Weekly and quarterly school events are offered to interact with school staff and other parents.
While the state requires only 15 hours of continuing training each year, we have completed 30 hours which meet accreditation standards. Of course, all staff have complete background checks, specific training on health and safety of young children, as well as training around security and emergency event issues.
Call us or stop in for a tour - we love sharing our program!
